The last week of the year.

I love the week leading up to a new year. It comes just after my busiest time, I’ve taken a big exhale and much of the pottery I’ve made over the many months is cleared out. I take an entire day to clean the clay studio, and while doing so I’m able to reflect on what worked, and what didn’t; the successes and the failures.

Me, cleaning my potter’s wheel and tools

I usually have at least one idea of something new I want to make and something else I don't care to return to any time soon. I’ll write more about that idea later.

And yes, I do make a couple of resolutions for the coming year. I like personal growth and have seen transformation through adding new habits and removing those no longer serving me. What about you? Are you someone who embraces new goals at the start of a new year?
